Hereditary Herbals (Pvt) Ltd is a unique Ayurvedic company that is founded by Dr. R.V.D.R.M.M. Ihthisham under the guidance of his father Dr. Raja Vaidyasekara Duwegoda Ranasinghe Mudiyanselage M.M.M. Irshard.

What sets them apart is the impressive name not withstanding is the fact that they are descendants of a royal physician who served king Rajasinghe II of Seethawaka, Avissawella, Sri Lanka. Dr. Irshard is currently the 14th generation of doctors taking forward the wonders of Ayurveda that were discovered by him and his ancestors. He has now made a way to share his amazing herbal medications with other parts of Sri Lanka and the world enabling access to his unique medications. Today Dr. Irshard has over 40 years of experience by himself in the field of Ayurveda.

How Dr. Irshard’s ancestors came to Avissawella, Sri Lanka is a tale worth relating. The story goes that king Rajasinghe’s wife, the queen who was suffering from an incurable ailment had been attended to by many renowned physicians without success. When Dr. Irshard’s ancestors arrived, the king with a desire to test his competency had tied a thread to the foot of a table and given it to the physician. He rightly recognised it as to be tied on to a lifeless thing.

Next the thread was tied to the foot of a cat and yet again he identified it correctly to be tied on to a living thing. Thirdly the thread was tied on to the queen’s hand and the physician recognised it as the nerve of a living being. The king taken up by his cleverness assigned him the task of curing the queen. When the queen was cured completely, the king as an act of tribute settled the physician and his family in Thalduwa, Avissawella.

Today Hereditary Herbals is working to provide outstanding medical products with the hope of helping their Ayurvedic medications supplement treatment for the betterment in patients with certain illnesses.
